I'm about 18 months out but looking now. I'm definitely not getting another full size anything and the Maverick is at the perfect height that my bride with her disabilities can easily ingress / egress the vehicle.

I have the occasional need for a small open bed and the ability to pull a 6x8 single axle open trailer. The Hybrid has a 4k tow rating and can be had with AWD. These are two other requirements. The Hybrid components are warrantied for well beyond the natural drive train warranty and my reading has shown a great improvement in reliability.

I'm not one who get triggered by temporary spikes in fuel costs but, the Hybrid sure seems to be great on gas which is a benefit whether fuel is $2 bucks or $5 bucks.

Looking for your experiences no matter which model year you own.

Considering an AWD Ford Maverick to serve as a 2nd/3rd line multi-use vehicle in the family, it would be replacing a 2014 Toyota 4Runner which is approaching 200k miles. We also have a Camry which my wife drives and a truck I use for work. We have two kids in college, so they would be using the Maverick during breaks and in the summer when they are home. I would daily drive the Maverick when they are in school and DD my work truck when they are home using the Maverick. With the AWD, my wife as an RN would take the Maverick in winter weather. Also want to be able to pull a UHaul 4x8 or 5x8 enclosed trailer and a 3.5k lb utility trailer loaded up to 2500 lbs or so.

Looking at a 2.0 EB Maverick instead of say a Ranger or Tacoma to give my wife and daughters a more car-like drive and an AWD system so they don't have to deal with a part-time 4WD transfer case like the 4Runner has. The Maverick checks a lot of boxes including decent routine fuel economy with the 4 cyl EB in comparison to something like a Honda Ridgeline.

What issues should I be looking out for? I read about CV axles, but that seems to be a hybrid issue. I wanted to ask, if you have a VIN, would a Ford dealer run it and give you Ford-dealer performed maintenance and any repairs? I'm a little hesitant on Ford - I consider it the best of the domestics, but my history is mixed. I owned two F150s, a 1990 and 2002. The paint fell of the 1990 and the 2002 had a mis-fire that took probably six months and multiple trips to the dealer to get diagnosed and resolved. Both were covered under warranty, but they were significant issues, and in the case of the 2002, required multiple trips to the dealer and I think I had to get Ford involved. Also had a 1993 Ranger which I consider one of the best vehicles I ever owned, as trouble free as any Toyota we have owned. Along with my Dad, we've had three Camrys and the 4Runner since 2007. Toyota's aren't perfect, but all four vehicles have been excellent, with most issues caused by northeast salted covered winter roads.

So I'm giving the Maverick a real hard look, just nothing out there that checks so many boxes. My wife gets Consumer Reports, and the Maverick gets high reliability ratings. Just looking to see if I missing anything to consider or specific problem areas and how they might be resolved. Thanks in advance for any info.
