Greetings,
Wondering where I should start to look regarding the cruise control and horn stopped working. Further other controls on the steering wheel stopped working but then the temperature and fan control later came back on line. The truck is a 2005 F350 Lariat Dually. For the past year everything had been working until the other day.

The horn fuse did not appear to be burned.

There does not seem to be any other fuse for the cruise control or the horn that I can find.

I have an appointment at the shop for early June. So if you have some advice for the mech / tech to check please let me know.

Thanks

Literally turned off the truck ran in did some work came back 45 mins later truck has no power. Some whistling at take off and turbo chugging when letting off throttle. Found couple threads same exact issue but no one posted resolution.

Before Start baro map ebp all the same 14ish. At 30-35 mph, Ebp is getting 55psi pretty fast. Map is roughly half that 27ish and vgts are at 15%.

Removed the ebp tube and sensor - full of soot. Cleaned it and the connection orifice. Tested some other maps blew out hose and orifice. Swapped in a new vgt solenoid I just put in another truck make sure that was good. Opened up the air filter housing just drove it down the street make sure it's not the air filter - no help. I had one of the boots off the turbo to check things out and didn't quite tighten it down sufficiently post ebp cleanup and it blew off. The turbo is moving some air.

W the map and ebp reporting baro koeoff, nothing thinking it's sensors. The turbo was rebuilt couple years ago. suggestions?

I have blown off the turbo hose more than I care to say but never had this happen. Only thing I can think is it was too tight. Fortunately I carry spare turbo hoses and clamps.

My freeze plugs are super rusty so to prevent them from getting any worse would it be best to spray them regularly with fluid film or some kind of high heat silicone?
I thought, maybe the forces acting on it over 4.5 years caused it to deform to the shape it's in today. And that's how Ford sent it, so I installed it. With outdoor temps of 60 degrees, my fuel pressure was 80 psi. I knew that couldn't be right, but I couldn't verify with a manual pressure gauge, because my schrader adapter couldn't be found. Over the course of last week, the pressure slowly dropped as outdoor temps went up. This morning it was 80 degrees and pressure was reading 71 psi. So it seemed to be working normally, but still the pressure was higher than I've ever seen with just a new blue spring.

I took a closer look at the old plunger and found something I never knew. The underside of the flange has a bevel undercut, for the conical side of the seal to mate with, it would appear.

Found a 2006 F350 6.0 4x4 studded/deleted/OEM tune dually with full Lariat interior, bull bar and extremely minimal rust with just over 300k kms and I haggled it down to $6500 CAD. I'm told there's no issues with 4x4, engine, head gaskets or oil cooler and it's a strong runner so I'm driving 4 hours tomorrow to check it out and I'll bring FORSCAN with me of course. I've had very good luck purchasing vehicles from farmers so fingers crossed on this one fellas :)

It'll crank w glow plug out. It'll crank key off glow plug in. As soon as the fuel pump kicks on it'll crank til it fllls up w fuel. Guessing it's fuel bc I've got the coolant level down w the degas off.

i cannot see any cracks anywhere. Haven't put pressure to the cooling system yet to see if it's the cup but it's def only coming thru when fuel pump on.

sitting here looking at a head diagram and im perplexed out a head crack can bypass the lower fuel seal that sits inside the cup even if one is there. Obviously its likely the head itself and not the cup bc a cracked Cup should put
fuel into the coolant rather than the cylinder. Guessing just time for another head - anyone worked around this issue got insights that aren't necessarily posted? I know there's a company selling a fix but will that larger cup fix all circumstances? Anything im missing making the decision?

Sometime this week I'm going to upgrade to the 6.4 pan/filter and refill with Motorcraft mercon LV and I'm curious if I should attempt a full flush or just do a couple drain n fills over the next 5-10k kms? I have no idea if there's mercon lv in there or if it's Valvoline lv compatible so I'd prefer to do a full flush, but I'm not sure what the procedure is for that. I'll be replacing the bypass filter as well.

Thanks fellas :)
