Hey, sorry about the delay. Guess I should be checking my mailbox here more often. I'm not a tech - thus the Bonehead nickname. I just buy trucks, usually wrecked or stolen at insurance auctions, fix them and use them a little while, and then sell them for a little profit if I'm lucky. I was very lucky on that ambulance. Only had it a few weeks and sold it for a great profit. Drove it back to Texas from Ohio and got about 9 MPH. Didn't have any problems. I have two other ambulances that are newer, and I'm having problems with them - more of my bonehead screw-ups.

I am buying a Type 1 ambulance similar to yours: 1981 Ford E350 with 20,000 miles, gas engine. What is your MPG? What are some essential things I should look into before making the purchase? What are problems you have encountered in the last few years with it? Any other advice would be great; I'm new to this thing.
