you should be able to turn the cup until the slot in the cup lines up with the pins and then it should pop off and then you can remove the shiftier.

Hi carguy94. I got your answer to my question about removing the shifter stick from the top of the transmission. I see the part you noted and I can get it loose, but not out. I see some pin type heads at 3 0'clock and 9 o'clock; would these need to be pulled or pushed out to remove the cap at the shifter? Thanks, Mark
