    hello , Jim

It's Tully again, well I honestly think I found it (long 3rd years of Ms. Poof Poof aka my pick up)

anyway it sputters if not warmed up , a tick/sputter in a lifter/s /or cam lobe that what it really was (probably why it killed a head gasket ) found out plugging out the pcv (thought it was that make the tick tick sound

Number 2/3 cylinder exhaust or intake valve or multiple lifters

    Hi Tully,
Someone was asking the other day if anyone had experience with those Ebay Carter YF knockoff carburetors.
The thread is not too old...

sorry for and old thread hijack thing

your starter issue is/was the bendix bull gear shape the camfer is way to pointed or ground /warn to mesh properly with the flex plate gear , my big 6 ate a few starters , it turn out to be just that , the starter either just hops out and grinds its self up , or mine also weld its solenoid shut a few times

one get a better ( modifying a different starter gear ,or get a bull gear off something else like I did ) the starter gear need to be thicker at tips of the teeth ,or it ends up hoping out no matter if its bolted down right ....
