    It's called a capacitor, and yes you should keep it with Duraspark. The resistor is a separate item and is already in your wiring harness.

    fmc400,thanks for the info. so on the dura-spark I still need to run a capacity resistor?

    Hi fmc400 you posted that the The capacitor that ties to the positive terminal of the coil is but nothing more than a noise suppressor,but it also drops voltage from 12 volts to somewhere around 7 to 8 volts after start up? doesn't it,thus restrict the voltage to the plugs 390fe duraspark
