    I had originally purchased 3 bends for the headpipes and tailpipes, and ended up using two more 45 degree sections I got from a friend.
    You might need more, to get one of the tailpipes all the way over to the driver's side. But you don't have to worry about going back over the axle, so that would end up using less bends.
    I like the look and sound of having one pipe on each side of the truck. But since the exhaust only exits on one side of the engine, I felt it was better for performance and flow to have both pipes run together, to keep them exactly equal in length.

    hey newrider,

    I just checked out your build on some thread, good work man. I'd like to fab my own exhaust exiting some EFI manifolds i've got waiting for my '81 F-150. Just wondering how many of those U-bends you needed to get the piping done to your rear axle.( I want duals comin out in front of each rear wheel)
