Conversation Between schlepprock250 and mauser6818

Hey buddy,I went with replacement hubs from NAPA about two years ago,(NAPA hub units are not any good),they don't have any play that I can tell,but the passenger side makes a moaning/grinding sound if I have to stop hard.I did notice that when I replaced them,the inner "race" part of the axle where the needle bearings run was worn,like the previous owner run a bad hub unit too long,Guzzle has a nice write-up and part #s...http://http://www.guzzle7pt3.com/nblube.php...Sorry it took so long to get back to ya,been kinda busy lately,if you have anymore questions or whatever just shout,or shoot me an email to schlepprock250@aol.com and I'll prolly get back quicker,at least untill you can PM...Phil

Hello, I too have a 99 F-250 4X4, and it appears that the outer stub shaft on the front passenger side axle might be bad as I am getting some pretty big "play" in that assembly. I am planning on replacing the inner hub bearing while in there as that is a likely suspect as well. I saw in a former post that you might of had these exact problems. My question is this...were you able to find just the outer stub axle shaft? I do not want to go to ford to buy the whole assembly, when I just need that outer stub shaft. Can you please advise? Do you maybe still have a part number for it?
