It pulls from the passenger side when wrapped around the carb.

Hello, I've been reading a lot of forums on here and noticed u know ur stuff. I am building close to the same setup as you but am hung up on the throttle cable. How did u get the cable to push the lever on the carb or did u wrap the cable around the carb and pull from the drivers side?
