Hank: I noted your 2014 posts on bulletproofing the 6.0 PSD.

I'm retiring soon not far fm you to the Ft Huachuca area (Cochise Co. is no smog test area). We'd like to keep our family's 2004 6.0 Excursion w/65K miles going till I take the final big dirt bath. F350's a 7.3 CCLB w/91K miles.

Is your Ford mechanic you referenced still in the area, and working 6.0's on the side? I was hoping to get the studs, gaskets, oil cooler, BPD egr (or maybe a delete), BPD water pump, and upgrade the intercooler as you suggested, done. Our turbo packed w/soot, required cleaning so not a fan of EGRs. We have several vehicles so he could work on it over many weeks/a month if necessary.

Taking the 6.0 Excur to the real BPD in Tempe would be hugely expensive. Where did you get the 4" dia exhaust kit from/fabbed?

BTW, we share an aviation background - I'm ret. Navy Aviation (P-3 Orions). Finally retiring fm my 5th career at a bit over 60 years. Thanks for the info - Dennis Grimes
