Conversation Between kspilkinton and DFD FF 2511

Kerry, i'm new here, but i'm interested in a 7700 rear swap. my dad has an 02 SuperCrew FX4 5.4 3.55LS, and he's wanting to beef up the rear WITHOUT going with air bags. we've put a set of timbrens under it already, and it pulls just fine, especially with the class V hitch and load-leveling bars, but we just want to be as safe as possible. the trailer he's towing is a little over 8K lbs and he's only rated to tow 7100. i know we're beyond the rated limits, but we've upgraded the brakes with rotors/pads for Trucks/SUVs that tow frequently, and we've made plenty of bolt-on power upgrades. now, step 3 is the suspension. we're trying to avoid changing the gears since he only tows 4 times a year, about 50 miles each (which is also the reason he doesn't wanna step up to an F250). you seem to be the master of all things 7700, and we're interested in doing what we can to (hopefully) keep from killing this ford-illac. thanks in advance.
