any of you guys got any boom boom systems? where are you putting your speakers/subs? im wanting to get some better speakers and was thinking of building a custom box to fit under the back bench seat. any of you guys build one? lets see some pics!
Get in the way? The sub doesn't get in the way, people get in the way of the sub and then you can't hear it haha.
I have one 10 behind the seat of my standard cab. For extended cab, forget the back has seats if you want some sounds. My co-worker had a 10 in his extended cab S10 and that worked well, sounded great.
If my truck was extended cab, that's all my back would be for, audio equipment haha.
This is mine for now

I don't see the point to doing that to a truck. So many subs and watts that the door does that. ???????????????
They do make some stealth boxes that will fit under the rear seat. Maybe search for downfiring box or something like that. You could also possibly use a wedge type box for a regular cab and put it under the back seat.
All I know is that I will take functionality over subs any day. I actually do not have them anymore because of that.
Ok, Kicker CVT 10" Shallow mount speakers are more than likely the best you'll be able to do, under the seat. There is a shop in my town that builds custom boxes outts fiberglass that works pretty good. Next step is to raise the rear seat, I believe a total of 3". I found a kit to do that on ebay a few years ago, it's actually taller brackets that lift the bottom of the seat. I had 3 CVT 12's in my 94 F150 supercab, until someone stole the system.
I've got jump seats in mine and, like you, I don't want anything in the way, so I just skipped the subs on this truck. Thankfully the twangy old country music I listen to doesn't need much bass to sound good.
any music sounds better with a bit of bass. i like all kinds of music, mostly country, but i also listen to a good bit of rap and alot of pop i guess you can say along with rock... and all of it sounds SO MUCH better with a sub to provide some bass.
i blew my old Lightning Audio sub and didnt have my system in my truck for a month and thought i was gonna go crazy. its not the same.
