I just picked up a 1995 F150 4x4. It's in pretty good shape but the door locks don't work. Even the manual operation won't lock the doors. Is this the lock actuators themselves causing this? I wouldn't care if the power locks didn't work but I need to lock it up somehow.
Sounds like the actuators are frozen. You will probably need to remove the door panels and remove the linkage from the actuators to the locks if you do not want the power door locks to work.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping that I could just remove the linkage from the actuators and use the locks manually. A new actuator is $100 and I don't want to spend that. I don't need power locks.
Or you could just try and clean it up with some lube and see if it works?
Accessories definitely aren't necessary, but they sure are convenient to have.

Yes, I'll certainly try to get them working but it doesn't really matter as this is just going to be a work truck.
I actually had the same problem with my 95. The plastic piece that hooks up to the door lock itself cracked. I drilled a couple of holes in the plastic piece and used safety wire to keep it together. Its been going strong for about a year now. Hope this helps.
