The Blue Angels are fun to watch. When I was stationed in El Centro, I got to watch them for 5 weeks each winter getting ready for their season. The Sneak pass is the best part of the show. They have the crowd watching one do a low pass while the other is setting up for a pass from behind the crowd. Once you know it's going to happen, watching the crowd's reaction is great:
I really want to see the Blue Angels, the stuff they do it just awesome. I've seen a few shows on tv about the Blue Angels but I've never seen them in person. Someday hopefully.
We don't have the airshow here in Muskegon any longer , but when they did ,we hosted the Blue Angel's twice . Each year they would fly an F-14 . There were times we were in the jet wash they were flying so low . They had Fat Albert here also ,& every so often , the Harrier jump jet ..

I never knew of the Blue Angels to fly the F-14 Tomcat.
Maybe the F-4 Phantom II??????????
I remember when they flew the F-4 Phantom II, then the A-4 Skyhawk, then the F/A-18 Hornet (maybe Super Hornet, now???).
Quick444,
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!! GREAT video!!!
I think he meant that there was an F-14 at the airshow, not as part of the Blue Angels.
From the website (Blue Angels : Official Website), "The decision to transition to the Super Hornet has yet to be determined." They've been flying the F/A-18 since November,1986.
I've seen the blue angles 3 times and yes the sneak attack scared the crap out of everybody in the crowd. (the third show I was watching for it and seen the setup)

I learned through talking to the ground crews and pilots of the Blue Angels that they use old airframes from the boneyards and re-furbish them. That was about 15 years ago, things may have changed, however, the application process to be in the squadron is pretty tough, even for the guys (and girls, of course) that are never seen by the public. You have to submit a photo of yourself in uniform, and there's an interview process.
Got buzzed twice by a F-16 on a lonely stretch of Eastern Oregon 2 lane black top......I figure he was cruising just under the sound barrier about 150 ft off the deck while he was using me for "target practice"..............What a rush!...No way I would even think about lodging a complaint with USAF authorities.
