If I were you, just replace the whole system from the turbo back. The stock down pipe is smaller than an aftermarket unit so might as well take advantage of a full system. It's not that hard to install the entire system.

It might help a bit if you do a muffler delete ???? If you're just putting the stock exhaust back on I would say no !

It's kinda like doing 75% of the job and not hard to take off and install the new one. IMHO. Just will allow your rig to breathe better. I think the stock DP is 3.5" and the MBRP is 4".

Not to correct you, but IIRC stock is 3" downpipe to 3.5" exhaust.

Not really. You could piece one together but it wouldn't be worth it. The down pipe is one of the bigger reasons to do an exhaust systems.
