Opinion, FRX or HPX

Which one to do first. I can't do them all, but I'm taking some time off and will be not only rebuilding the front of my truck from the wreck, but fixing some things as well, like the undersized intercooler and trans cooler problem, checking glow plugs and I would like to do either of the FRX or HPX which ever would be better.

My opinion is the FRX because of the #8, opinions?

Both is not an option right now.

FRx would be my first choice, there both nice additions to your truck but you would be doing a fuel mod which is good..

Actually, I'd do the in-tanks mods first. Then the FRx/HPx.

I'm with Joe. Before worrying about balanced pressures, remove the air form the injection process and get better tank circulation from the return line.

I third that.
My in tank mods were done with local parts for pretty cheap also. I think I had the most money tied up in compression fittings. Did you have the CCV mod done? That is also super cheap. Did you have the GPR LED done? That is also super cheap.

I 4th that. Intank mods can be done on the cheap if you have a tubing bender already.

edit: I didn't answer the original question..........With the above being said, go for the FRx first like Mike said.

Wish I was there to help you Mike. I'd bring my trans jack and we'd make short work of it.

I'm using two ratchet straps to help me lower it, my jack is busted, will that be enough?? Any special tools to disconnect anything, can I just use a screwdriver if nessesary??

Here's the instructions from DI's site. http://67.19.132.3/dieselinnovations...k-pump-kit.pdf PVC pie cutters work great to do the Harpoon mod to the vent pipe. Fuel line disconnect tool for the connection at the fuel pump. Shouldn't need the disconnect tool on your '03 though.

You all are something else. There is a reason I asked about these two things.

FRX or HPX

To settle everyone's concerns, I've done some of the in tank stuff. The rest is cheap and easy and I can make that stuff myself. It will be finished when the bed is off in a couple of weeks. The HPX or FRX I have to order.

That being said, i guess I can call it unanimous for the FRX first?

Kinda looks that way since your intanks are done now, have fun. If you need some custom bent and filed down little wrenches, Platnium Pete sent them to me to do my install, he said when I was done with them, I could pass them along to the next guy installing the FRx, your welcome to them. If your interested, PM me your address and I'll get those out to you. All we ask is when the next person is doing the FRx, you pass then on to them if they need them..let me know

Yeah, then FRx first. Get rid of that dead-head fuel system design...

That is not my opinoin. I wouldn't want to pay shipping twice so I would order them at the same time. If you don't have enough money for both than it would wait. But that is just me.
