Hi,
I am currently rebuilding my nephews 390 engine out of a 67 thunderbird. The engine is going to be installed into a 72 f-250 4x4. The 360 that came out of the truck has 4 holes for the motor mounts, the Thunderbird 390 only has 2 and the truck motor mount does not line up. is there another mount i could use or a company that sell the retro kit. The tbird block has already been to the machine shop so I dont want to send another and waste the money. thanks giovanni

That 390 isn't from any 1967 Thunderbird, or any other 1965 or later passenger car or truck.
Ford changed the engine mount bolt holes in 1965 on all FE engines.
What you have is a 1961/64 390 block. Or...it could be a 352 if not from a T-Bird.
I cannot answer the question if anyone makes motor mounts or adapters to allow this early engine to fit in a 1965 or later car/truck.
I had a 1955 ford 2Dr sedan way back in 1963 with a 292 T-bird motor . Well, I wanted to go faster so, I put in a 1961 390. I'm sure, I use the same motor mounts from the 292 V8 motor. So early mounts may work for yeah..my 2cents
orich
I put a 64 390 into a 66 F100, I had to make plates to bolt on to the block that would the 66 motor mounts to bolt on. It was just a flat piece of steel with holes drilled into it that would bolt to the engine and allow the mounts to bolt on.
Thanks for the insight.
Had a hack mechanic in Santa Barbara fab mounts for a 1964 390 into my 1967 F-250. Trying to fix the Freeman Automotive Design mess (see attached photo) and if there is a company that makes this mounting system, please let me know. Most are for 429 engines. Thanks,
