No Start

I was fixing the door accuators on my power door locks. While turning the truck off and on I noticed the Wait to Start light quit coming on.

Now the truck won't start. I jumped the glow plugs until they were warm and still not start.

I have not seen any smoke out of the back.

I check fuse 30 and it is good.

It is a '99 7.3 PSD

Welcome to FTE!

Unplug the fuel bowl heater and check the fuses again. The fuel bowl heater the WTS light and the PCM are all of the same circuit check the fuse with a tester not just visually.

Also check fuse #24 IIRC the 99's had some changes between early and late years. It will be a 30 a maxi fuse.

I'll check it. Is it in the fuse box under the hood. I checked them all and I thought they were all right but I didn't use a tester.

I am heading out of town and won't get a chance to look at it until next week end.

I'm back and trying to get the truck running. I have checked the fuses. All are good. I disconnected the batteries incase there was a computer lock out.

The PCM relay and the injector driver module relay (IDMR) click when the ignition switch is turned on. With fuse 30 pulled only the IDMR click.

Any ideas?

What are you getting when you try to start? Starter turning? Can you hear the fuel pump at key on?

It cranks good. No smoke. I have not checked the fuel pump yet. But I will.

Check you fuel safety shut off on your passenger kit panel and be sure it's not tripped.

Check all the fuses with a test light, including the ones under the dash. Do you have a chip in your truck? Were you doing anything other than the actuators? Bump any wires or anything?

The fuel pump does not run. I pulled the panel off on the right side. How do you reset the switch? The Haynes manual just says reset it. I don't see any obvious way to reset.

BTW the CPS has been replaced.

No chip.

I don't think I did anything to other wiring, but that probably is the problem. I don't see anything wrong.

If the fuel pump doesn't run then does the other systems stay off.

The WTS light does not come on at all!

It has a reset button on it, just push it in until it clicks. Check the wiring going to it as well.

There is a round opening on top of what looks like the switch. I pressed on it, no change.

I checked the pump with a tester. There is continuty through the pump and to ground. So the pump looks good.

Any other places to check.
