I just put a C6 out of a parts truck into my 70 F250. Feel
confident that I had the torque converter all the way in. Nearly
an inch behind the front of the bell housing, and the transmission mated right up to the motor with no problem. When I start up, the transmission went right into gear, no problem. Started down the driveway, and felt something bind up briefly. I stopped, and it clear up. Continued on, every thing seemed great, for about 500 yards, and then it went out of gear. Now every gear is like it's in neutral. What do you think, could it be the torque converter, or is the transmission finished.
Will tell u one thing. I have NEVER heard of a C6 loosing all the gears! I know this might sound stupid--did u bolt torque converter to flywheel? Just checkin. Did u put new filter and fluid in tranny? Sittin around in parts truck--never know what kinda stuff that thing has been thru.
