I am

the proud owner of a 52 F1 and a 51 parts truck. Just got them tonight also got a 302 and tranny thrown in with the deal. The truck is in good shape with minimal rust, but the motor is toast. It has a three on the tree and the seat is in not bad shape either.

Wow thats a nice find! Flathead in it? Is it seized or why is it toast, needs rebuilding? Are you thinking of the 302 swap? Looks in very nice shape!

The motor was seized so he swiped a few parts from it. As for the 302 swap, that is not for me, but you never know when you might need one.

Yep that 302 could work in the 78 if need be. So you need a flathead then or does the parts truck have one?

The parts truck has one to, so I am not sure if I have enough parts to make a motor out of both or not.

Looks like a very nice barn find Colin, you done did very well with getting these two!
Thought the Flattie in my 53 M350 seems to run ok so far it`s very cranky when it comes to starting. I`m so very tempted to swap in my spare 302....if I can ever get that far. It`s far down the list of things to do right now.

That is a sweet looking truck there. If I were you Id keep pestering Fomoko to sell you his flathead, it is a good running motor very smooth.

Yep those are the ones. I don't think he realized what he had, he said when he was showing me the trucks that he was surprised at the response he got. I must have been lucky and been the first one to respond to the add and he was a stand up guy and held it for me till I looked at it because it sure sounded like he had a few other people standing in line. He also had a 50 Merc M3 that he used for a water truck, 2 McCormick Deering tractors, Massey 44 and a John Deere A and some old chev trucks from the 20's.

I plan on keeping the flattie, that is part of the attraction. As for the trucks they are both solid, not a hole anywhere in either cabs and only a couple of fenders have some rust. The wood in the box isn't even rotten.

Usually the story on moderatly priced trucks is... The seller found it a auction, paid VERY minimal money then tries to double his money. Which is a easy way to make money plus everybody happy.
