Today on my way back from yorkton I saw a newish f150 with a tiny trailior pulled over by a DOT officer........ he was towing a Bobcat S300
I wonder why he got pulled over
Sherm, use the proper damn sized trailer at least!!
Those newfies, I swear....
what ...hey... it fit on the trailer, that means the truck can tow it right???
last monday i seen an '09 F450 towing a full sized excavator on a goose neck triaxle. i'd venture to say he was over weight also, but the truck was moving with traffic no problem and the truck wasn't squat much!!
Ive seen guys pull full sized excavators behind tandem axle dump trucks, on tag trailers before. Each guy i talked to said that they were at the absolute max capacity though.
S 300 must weigh over 8000 lbs. Way over what an F150 can tow anyway with a 2000lb trailer you are up to what 15000 GVCW I don't think an F150 can tow that legally anyway. Correct me if I am wrong.
A full size hoe behind an F450 the guy must be on drugs. A 35,000 lb machine behind an F450 Duh.
I`m pretty confident your correct and also just the standard factory hitch might not be rated for any where near that weight.
Sherm or someone else may have a better idea of what the maximum allowable limit is on an F150.
Nice to see you back on here again Duncan! Will you be able to make it to Radisson`s car show this year?
