Suggest an engine for 1968 F100
Got water in my oil and depending on what I find, I may have to go to another engine and would like to put a later model in. Can you suggest as late a model that I could use without a lot of hassel. I have a 360 with automatic now. And I don't want to get into the computers.

But if you don't want to spend $20,000 how about just buying a cheap 80-85 pickup with a 351W and using all it's drivetrain stuff.
But I have to ask, why would you want to go away from the FE?

I guess I am just putting out feelers for ideas...your idea about the 80-85 engine is good, and I am not eager to get away from the FE. Maybe a good 390 would be OK and I probably will rebuild the 360 if the block is not cracked. Do not know yet where the water is getting into the oil. Have not started yet.
