The link between wipers and parking lights

Hi all, been a long time since I posted. The truck has been off the road for a couple of years and recently the crappy, half-melted under-dash harness became bad to the point of not letting the ol' girl start.

I am building my own wiring harness for it now, putting in relays and accessory switches where I see fit, using the power distribution box and fuse panel from a '90 Thunderbird.

Anyway, I'm almost done with it, except I'm curious about one thing. In the wiring diagram that I have for the stock '72, there is a wire that runs from the wiper switch and splices with two brown parking light wires.

What is that for?!! The wiper switch should be getting power on the Black-White wire (and even if it wasn't, the brown parking light wires are only hot when the headlights are switched on), and the parking lights get power from the headlight switch, so why is there a connection between the wiper switch and the headlight switch via the parking lights? A misprint on the diagram?

Thanks in advance,

Josh

Sounds funny to me.

The only reason that I can think of for a wire from the lights to the wipers would be to automatically turn the lights on if the wipers are on (like on my towncar). But I never heard of that on a '72.

Found out it was an error on the wiring diagram. Thanks for the reply.
