Since it is an EB there is a good chance that it does have it. A couple of ways to check, first look at the kick panel under the dash on the passenger side in front for a suspension shut off switch. Another way is to look under the back at the rear axle. There will either be coil springs or an air spring made out of rubber on each side. As far as how often it runs that sounds fairly normal, but others will chime in I am sure to verify that.
You can also pay close attention when you get in it and see if the truck is rising when you here the compressor running. On my 98 the compressor is located under the windshield washer reservoir.
