Donjamer, can you help me please!?!?!?
I am having problems with my computer and am wondering if you can help..
I have an HP Presario V6000 Compaq Notebook with Windows Vista
And now the story starts..
About three months ago, my wireless driver quit working. So I contacted HP’s online help center. She had me go into my Device Manager and delete my iisatap (sp) driver. Shortly after she had me delete that driver, she told me “she needed my address so she could send me a box. I needed to send her my laptop.” Basically, I told her no and she told me to take it to Staples.. She never told me anything else from that point on..
Since that day, my computer has crashed 30 +/- times and is getting worse.. I cannot find that driver anywhere on my computer, and frankly, I don’t know where to even look. My WAN Miniport (SSTP) Driver has also failed and crashes my computer anytime it is ReEnabled. If this was not bad enough, the only internet capabilities still left is by Eathernet. My dial-up connection went about two weeks later.
I bought an external wireless USB device to get me by in the wireless world, but I only have dial-up when I’m not at school. Honestly, I could go without my wireless working, since I found a way around it. I am more concerned at how often my computer crashes.. blue screen of death crash.. and would really like to get my dial-up working again..
I guess my question is, would reloading Vista solve my problems or is it something else?
Any suggestions are accepted!!
Thank you in advance for your help!!
I believe there is a way to restore windows without formating....it is supposed to repair bad or damaged files... you might wanna give that a try...after Don replies

You can download the new wireless driver (and/or others) from HP and re-install.
Before downloading the new files, look on the bottom of the laptop and jot down the product number.
HP uses this information, as well as the serial number.
(Kinda like a VIN on a car/truck.)
There is a way to "Restore" the laptop to original configuration, either from the "Rescue" partition on the HDD, or from "Rescue" disk/CD.
I forget the exact procedure, but, you can do a "Repair" and not 'wipe' the HDD and start over. (Well. . . with XP you can do this.)
Good luck. Let us know how it goes. . . .
Isn't HP support wonderful??

What I would recommend doing is Goto the HP website and download the driver for your card..
Next goto device manager and delete the wireless adapter..
Then install the new downloaded driver..
You can also try a system restore back a month to when it was working..
As Mark said Vista has a repair function which I believe is on the menu along with safe mode...
If those do not work I would try updating the drivers at Driveragent -.- com
It will scan your pc and tell you which ones are old..
It may cost to join...
If all else fails I can remotely access your computer anywhere and do it..
Let me know

If HP will still offer to send you a box to let them fix, let them. They are reasonable time wise - not instant though. I have found that the HP/Compaq live technical support is very good at providing links to the drivers that you need.

I'm thinking about sending it to them but I'm sure they will want to charge me..
Not yet, but hopefully soon!!
