The check engine came on so I went to Advance Auto to get a CEL test and was told the # 1 and # 6 cylinder COP was bad. I bought two and replace the COP, but still had the same problem. Truck was missing & running rough when it get to 45 - 50 Mph. So this morning I figure I will take the coil packs back and just bring the truck to Lincoln dealership in the morning. I remove the # 6 plug and notice that it was wet, so I get a flashlight and look into the plug and there is water up to the top of the plug.
Yesterday I tested the 5, 6, 7, 8, & 1 COP and they were within the specification of OHM reading at 00.7.
Now I am thinking that water has gotten into the cylinder one or two ways:
1. I have a head gasket blown
2. With all the rain lately plus I spray under the hood when I wash the vehicle with a high pressure hose and the seal did not keep all the water out.
The plan now is to take my wet vac and absorb all the water that I can get out and pull the plugs and get everything dries and put it back together.
Hopefully this was cause by the water and not a blown head gasket.
Next take the 2 coil packs back to Advance Auto for a refund. $87.00.....
Maybe the clylinders was misfiring because of the water.....
