I am swapping a 73 front end under the 66. It has Dayton dual piston calipers but the dust shields are rusted out. Are these available anywhere? Are they necessary? Where can I find sway bars for this truck? 66 F-2540 Camper special?
Thank You?
Imagine the dust shields would extend the life of the rotors, and brake assembly in general, particularly with winter coming on. Have seen the generic type, 1 size fits all, thought they were too expensive. I would call couple truck salvage yards, if they have the items get a price, imagine the dust shields are interchangeable over a number of years, perhaps the person you talk to will confirm it. I would then hit a couple 'pic your part' and if the shields are available I would get a price and decide which route to go, cost vs labor intensity. Anyhow, had an urge to chime in and add my $.02.

Addco makes sway bars that will fit our trucks. The application guide may not go back to 65 but the front portion of the frame is the same thru 79 and I'm pretty sure I recall seeing listings for the 'bumpside' trucks that followed ours.
