Just seen pictures and a video on a new International Semi called the Lonestar. First thing I said in awe was Whoa.
It is not a ford, but mean looking tractor unit with sleeper living area.
Go to Diamond International and look up the Lonestar.
Aguy could live n that thing.
Now that you mentioned it. It does look like an Escalade on Steriods. LOL .
I remember a few yaers back reading an article on semis for the near future and Volvo was already trying to design trucks that the cabs are lower to the ground and sleeker looking. This is to cut down wind and make the trucks more economical. Some of the pics showed the drivers laying in reclining postion of to one side. like sitting where the front fender is.
Mind you these are designe for the future. They maybe coming on the road just as I (heaven forbid) can no longer drive.
Thanks for the link sherm, I am one of the lazy ones
That international is quite the truck. It sure isnt my kind of look (I like the classic look) but it doesnt look as bad as some of them, like the sterling, or volvo's.
Love those petes sherm, I wish I could get one!
For the guy thats an over the road driver, that international sure would be comfortable.
Sadly the banks won't give me a loan right now to clear up the small debts I have. This sucks. Yet I know people who declare bankruptcy and 6 months later are getting loans again. I never done that and have always paid my debts, even sometimes late, but I alwayspay them. Yet I cannot get even a simple $5000 loan. Go figure.
Glen, it is messed up the way that works. I know a guy back home that has gone bankrupt 3-4 times, AT LEAST, and you should see the way they live. Not long after he goes bankrupt you can always see a new semi, and some new equipment sitting at his house.
He has a really nice expensive cabin at either candle or waskesuie lake, a nice house, and drives a newer (05+) armadillo diesel truck (one of those yellow ones)
Yeah it is the same with the guy I know. The guy makes over 4000 a month on the rigs and has really nothing to show for it. He is a deadbeat dad. He does not pay child support to his ex who is a friend of mine. Aanyways he buys new furniture and trucks each time. Then declares bankruptcy. at least times. He again is drivng a new 2008 truck.
He smokes heavily like 4 packs a day.. lives on the sites of the rigs and rents an apartment here. So his debt load is not very big. yet he goes bankrupt and gets loans agin for more stuff. This what I don't understand.
The banks should be punishing these guys and rewarding us guys who pay. So they are teaching people to screw them and be rewarded. So the banks bend over and say do it again it was good. HUH.?
Nice looking truck. I think the design is supposed to be a tribute to the Internationals of the '30's and '40's. Sort of a retro-mobile , like the 'new' VW Beetle, except the Lonestar, looks in size like it's taking steroids.
once upon a time if you bankrupted you lost everything except the shirt on your back. now you have to be left with the necessities. they cannot take your home, must leave you with one vehicle, and all living needs. they will take your toys, extra property, or whatever they can to sell and cover losses. the only way they won't take things is if its a necessity, or you use it for your business. the guys who seem like they always come out on top likely have a good buddy that they sell everything to for a buck, then go under while still "having" lots of stuff...
