for a 78 f-150 302 5.0L. This is a follow on from an earlier post (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...these-are.html). I finally got it running, but it continues to idle real high while in park and dies immediately when I put in gear. If I dial it below 1700rpm, it dies??? I'm at a loss and have tried everything and read this forum a lot looking for clues.
I did notice that if I remove the hose from the ambient temp switch that is connected to the throttle emissions control solenoid, it will idle for about 2-3 seconds and then die, so I'm thinking it's either the solenoid or the temp switch. I'm off to NAPA to see if they can order the switch, but I've looked for the solenoid before and they don't have it. I've looked on line and nobody has it. Can I replace this solenoid with a different type????
