Banks Monster Exhaust

Anyone have any feelings on how they like or dislike the Banks 4" Monster Exhaust? Sound good or sound just about like stock? Any other brands that are worth the money or sound better?

Not sure, but Banks stuff is usually overpriced. Is it Stainless? I bought a 4" stainless turbo-back MBRP for $490 shipped to my door. You can get aluminized for about $300ish. Search around -- most 4" sound about the same. There is a difference when you go to 5", plus you can delete the mufflers on both of those and change the sound again. OPTIONS!!

So your saying go to 5" if possible and no muffler? Will sound the best that way.

What sounds "best" is highly subjective. I like how my 4" sounds, and I wanted SS, so I went with what I did. No regrets. Some guys like to remove the mufflers on either system, but I'll be leaving mine. Although ** I ** may like it, my neighbors might not...

I suggest you listen to both and decide which one you like.

That is a MBRP Stainless correct? Sounds pretty sweet. Where did you get it and how much? Would you recommend that?

I like it a lot. I got it from ThroroughbredDiesel for $490 shipped to my door with a nice tip. Someone found it a bit cheaper someplace, but I can't remember where. Here are some clips of the 5":
http://home.comcast.net/~kwikkordead/index.html

kwik's is a little different because he has his exiting in front of the wheel instead of behind it like most. It does affect the sound a bit...

Banks

I've had banks 4'' stainles monster for about 4 years now and no problems. finish on the 5'' tip is still great. I love the sound. you can hear the turbo and the rumble really rumbles when you punch it.!! It's not to loud inside the cab. (It's great for long trips) It was a little high, I think almost 800.00. I could have got it for 80 less but I wanted it that day. I have the 7.3 and their not really that loud even with no muffler.

Ive heard a bigger down pipe ie 4'' or (bigger than stock) robbs torque??? I couldent notice. I have the 4'' turbo back.

Hope this helps.,

Ryan

Me too, I'm glad to know mine will be around for awhile. The only thing about mine is causes some Down Pipe drone. Does anyone else have this drone from a larger down pipe? Is mine hooked up right or is this just the norm? Thanks

I find when I turn hard on an uneven area I hear a loud drone, then when I turn the wheel straight it's normal. I checked all the connections nothing loose. Is this what you are talking about?
