As kevin has stated a tragedy has happened and his father -who was helping Kevin get his 51 F6 wrecker ready for the Super Nat's has died. I cannot imagine his grief, but hope all will write in and send him your prayers and best wishes. Ken Smith passed away and his son needs assurance that we all support him now -more than ever. thanks Bill
Kevin, continue on with the build as I am sure your father would have wanted you to. Not only would you carry on with the fond memories of the work you have done to date with you father, the truck will also serve as a memorial of your father that you can enjoy with him in you memories for years to come. Depending on your goals for the truck perhaps you could put a memorial to you father some where on the truck.
I'm sure your truck will give you great memories of him since you two worked on it together. Again, I'm praying for you. Losing folks we love is something that all of us have to deal with, but especially hard when it comes unexpected.
I feel your pain. My dad, my fellow old truck guy, died going on sixteen years. Never got to see my F-2, his service truck, finished but everytime I fire the old girl up it brings back a lot of memories. I know the pain now is unbearable, it will never quite go away, but remember him, I'll never forget the times I had with my dad.
I've been there, hang in there buddy, all of our thoughts are with you and your family.
Sorry to hear about your dad, Kevin. Will keep you all in our prayers. It's good to have memories - they comfort, console and motivate us. Blessings,
Tim
I got to meet Kevin's dad and he was a cool guy and was so involved the day I was there on the truck. I even called him Ken by accident and he said-yea that is my name. I complimented him on the paint job and it turned out real nice. I offered to paint the truck, but couldn't and instead Kevin's Dad sprayed it and now it can be a blessing in disguise, and hopefully give Kevin a great memory of him. I am not good at stuff like this, but hope Kevin Smith can deal with this and keep on truckin' on his 51 F6.
Kevin, may God bless and comfort you during this time of loss and pain. I agree with the guys as far as your truck goes. when the time is right complete your project as a rememberance, and be assured that your Dad will be riding copilot every time you get behind the wheel. Im sorry for your loss, "JIMMY"
Kevin, very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm so glad he was able to spend time with you working on the truck, that'll be a rememberance you'll cherish. You are in my prayers, I know it's tough, and there are no easy answers. Just keep on keeping on.
It`s times like these we all want to say something profound to help
you get through your pain-I just wish I could! I can only join the rest
of the guys & girls here on FTE by saying, You and Your family
are in our Prayers.
My Prayers are with you Kevin. My Town Sedan is an exact copy of Pops first new car. I bought it and restored it in memory of him. I learned to drive in Pops 55 so I feel him with me whenever I take her out. I'm so sorry for your loss.
My heart goes out to you ... I know how great it is to have a caring father right beside you in your hobby, and I can only imagine what it's like to lose him unexpectedly. We're all thinking of you & praying for you.
