What kind did you rent and what was your opinion on how it worked. We got the bobcat one because the chute controls were so much more refined. It blows quite well, not like our old tractor one but it does what we need.

A Bobcat but FGI didn`t inform me that an electrical attachment control kit was required so all nite I had to fight the chute. It was a major pain.
Other than being in a snow storm/blizzard, not able to see much it did the job clearing out a 7 ft X 1200 ft long corral alley way. In places it was over 6 ft deep and hard packed, there was no other way of getting rid of the snow in that narrow a space.
It was a cold irony to see a huge payloader, too big to fit in the alley and their two New Holland skid steers sitting there, useless without the blower attachment.

No, there is no way I`d be out in the -30`s in an open Bobcat. As it is the heater is great till -20`s then it does get fairly cool in the machine.
It`s totally enclosed but still all you see is fine blowing snow particals from the blower doing it`s job.

ahh. thats okay then, not perfect, but definetly better than nothing.

but you know, there is a way you could have used that loader, you just would have had to go back in spring and rebuild some fence. always a way though

It would take way too long to rebuild a heavy duty 1200 ft long alley way.
It`s too bad it wasn`t a wider alley but then the cattle wouldn`t travel down the alley too well, mostly scatter and double back.
The Bobcat snow blower was the best way.

It would be too wide for that alley, at times I was almost hitting both sides and the Bobcat was only a touch over 6 ft wide.

It was a 1,000 cow/calf operation. Either they`re going make it big or...

It was mostly a straight alley though it did go from 7 1/2 ft down to a little over 6ft in width, there was a very sharp turn just after the begining.
Well built with rail road ties, 2x6 and 8ft high rough lumber slabs.

More than a work out, there is a row of big trees in some very deep snow just outside of the alley way.
The loader looked about 2 ft too wide for the alley.
