Finally a Super Duty V10 owner!
I got a used 2006 Dark Stone crew cab 4x4 short box Lariat.
I love riding in this thing and I love the power. The 12.6 mpg isn't that impressive, but I knew that going in. I can't wait to hook up a trailer and pull my 78 Bronco to Moab and play.
I tried buying a 2000 Ford, but the dealer wouldn't come down. I ended up getting exactly what I wanted. I hope she will last me many years.
Just had to post in the V10 forum as a owner instead of posting as one who was still wanting a V10..
I am taking my 11,000 lb. fifth wheel to the NC mountains again tomorrow. Looking forward to it! These things can pull!

Welcome to the BSEG club brother... I hope you have decades of trouble free V10 ownership!
Daveman..... you are in for a treat.... I love the wait on a new truck... so much it hurts! The day of delivery is like my childhood Christmas morning

available. The V10 crew cab with the Lariat package is what I have
and I love it...especially since gas is just above $2.00 a gallon where
I live. Feels good to put your foot it occassionally.

I wish I could buy gas like you are in Texas. It is sitting at about 2.69 here with diesel about $.30 higher. We are getting robbed.
The high price is still not enough of a deterant to keep me from putting my foot on the go pedal. It just makes me smile!!
Here's to years of BSEG(s) and the hopes that you never have to use your FTE user name to describe how you are with your truck!
I hear that SE Missouri is $1.829 for regular
(if you hear it on the radio it must be true)
Around here it is all the buzz about gas being "so cheap"
really ticks me off how fast we are "conditioned"
goes from $1.299 all the way to $1.789 and get us all torqued then falls to $1.599 and we are happy to save a quarter a gallon...
They been playing this up 75c and back 50c for a few years now and are creeping us up to being happy at less then $5.00 a gallon
Really, I like to think it is all supply and demand market forces... but there is still enough "conspiracy theorist" in me to think out loud...
A few things stick out in my mind from the past year or so.
Oil company exec: "We don't make more money when the prices go up".
News media: "Higher than anticipated inventories are causing the drop in prices. The higher inventories are because the expected demand in the summer didn't peak as high as expected" (which I believe).
OK, so if they can stock up in anticipation of increased consumption, and they don't make more money if the price is higher anyway, why not PRODUCE MORE ?!?!?!? The capacity is there, or they couldn't have built up the inventories high enough to drop the price almost $1.00
Of course, this is ignoring the fact that we'd only use more and more and more and strain the system anyway.
But they are large corporations. When did large corporations give any care about anything but profits?
Large or small, mega conglomerate or ma and pa...they are all in business to be profitable. There is zero compulsion or moral mandate to take care of the consumer / customer except that which is necessary to get a repeat customer.
We all rant and rave about the big evil company..... but in the end this is our capitalistic system and we actually love being the victim, conditioned by TV to believe we DESERVE things....convinced by our Government that we are ENTITLED to things....
Funny the each of us would love to have a thing to sell that the consumer needs, believes that they deserve, and the government mandates they buy it... OH sorry, we were talking about gas and I just described auto insurance...my bad... what was your question again?
