And to add to what Art is saying, who ever you contact to do a custom grind will need to be told up front that they are V10 cams. Then the disappointment will set in when they tell you no can do because their fixtures are sized for 4 6 and 8 cyl cams.
And if you were lucky enough to find the one guy out there that is willing to weld on material and regrind to higher lift and different timing or durations he will ask you to provide the specs you want.
Of course you could always say just a higher lift and longer duration symmetrically on all valves... keeping same timing and over lap.. but I assure you it would be very expensive and the results would be unpredictable. Let alone the hassle of installing, testing and doing it all over again if the dyno showed a problem in part of the power-band.
For a company to offer several different "grinds" of cam options for the typical GM BB V8 costs in the 100,000 to 200,000 dollar neighbor hood of R&D before they mass produce
A custom grind for my 2 cylinder Harley motor cost me 350 dollars from HeadQuarters in Canada. No they will not do other sizes..they are strictly Twin cylinder oriented. I was able to use a computer program to model and virtual dyno my designs before popping for the green to experiment. Took two tries to get the HP, & Torque curves in the range I was looking for in a NA 80 CI motor.
Sorry but the V10 is no where near the popular hot rod motor a Small Block Chev motor is...tis a fact that it is about as good as it can be in stock form...
Buy a V10 truck for the power house it is towing and hauling
Get an olf F100 and stuff a 560HP crate moter in it for Saturday night drags
I was told maybe the last week of November or the first week of December. They are going to be expensive though. I do not have an exact price but I think close to $1200.00 per pair.
$1200 for what, 20-30 ft/lbs and/or a rise in RPM for peak torque?
Sure, you could get more than 20-30 ft/lbs, but it starts getting to the point where it's no longer a "truck" motor.
Of course, I'd love to stuff one into my wife's Cougar But after that, I wouldn't be worried about another 20-30ft/lbs, I'd be worred how to put big enough tires in the back that it wouldn't smoke them everytime I take off ...
