'89 2.9L EFI fuel lines

I'm swapping two engines. What does it take to disconnect the fuel lines from the intake??. Or maybe a better question, "where" is the best/proper place to disconnect them for this operation??
There appears to be large flared fittings with a crimped connection, about 6" from where they go into the intake.

Welcome to FTE!
If you take a close look at the flared fittings, it's actually a coupler. The smaller line that goes into the "bell" fitting has a flare on it as well, and there is a garter spring inside the larger fitting that holds it in place. There is a tool available to disconnect these fittings, you can get it from most any auto parts store, Ford fuel /transmission /air conditioning line disconnect tool.

Thank you thank you Fordsix. I suspected a "special" tool. I hope it comes with instructions. I finally figured out the crescent..
Looks like I'll have to update my toolbox.
