I have a 99 Expedition and the ABS light will come on and if I restart it most of the time it will go off. The dealer said that if it doesn't stay on they can't determine what the problem is. Any suggestions or anyone else have this problem? Sounds to me like a bad sensor (ideas on the cost to replace?)
Mine had same problem. You can remove the sensor off the rear differential (on top. one bolt and one electrical connection)and clean it. It gets clogged up with small metal fragments, since it is a magnet. I replaced mine with a dealer part and is very simple. If that doesn't fix it, which usually does, something else is going wrong with the abs system
just change the differencial sensorrrrrr,is the one that was screwing around in my 99 expy, you are going to have to change that one in the very near future anyways, 12 bucks/15min of work may be less, you're done, bolt on top is a 3/8
Just took out the sensor off my 97 expy and there is like two little mangets. Don't know if this is suppose be one and it broke, cause I can't get the bottom one out of the differential. Needs some help!!
