EEC-IV ECM manual and automatic difference?

I was thinking of swapping from my EFI speed-density over to the more efficient mass-air system. It's in an early Bronco 302 with a plain C4 trans. I'm wondering what is the difference between auto and manual EEC-IV mass-air ECMs like the mustang A9L and A9T. Does the difference pertain to electric controlled auto transmissions? If so then I'm ok to use either in my application, right? It seems to me that pin #30 can go either to a neutral safety switch or the clutch start. Are there difference in fuel and/or timing curves? Any info is appreciated.

Mike

I think the timing curves are a little different between the A9L (manual) and the A9P (automatic) computers to be a little easier on the automatic during shifts. Neither one controls the transmission at all and both would work with your C4.

The fuel/timing curves are different, and the ecm looks for a clutch pedal switch on the stick cars to hold the idle higher during gear changes and the auto ecm looks for a park/neutral switch to compensate the idle when in gear to keep it from dying.
