behind seat fuel tank

Guys I need some help. I have a 1976 ford 4x4 pickup with dual tanks I like the fact that I can carry a lot of fuel. Now the problem is that the truck sat for a few years and I think they have rust in them. I want to avoid any problems and just replace them both, but I have not found a place that sells the in cab gas tank even recoditoned and I dont want to move it out of the cab.

You should probably take it down to a radiator or machine shop and have it cleaned and checked.

My choice would be to ditch the in cab tank and buy the 40 gallon rear tank. It is the safest option, should cost about the same as two new 20 gallon tanks, get the fuel capacity you want, and solves your rust problem.

Oh, and which ever option you take... take pictures and make a tech article.
