Butterfly is Sticking...Why??
I originally thought my problem with the engine not returning to idle speed was because the cable wasn't moving freely, but I discovered that one or both butterflies are sticking in the tube. I tightened the return spring and it helped alot but it still sticks every now and then. Anyone know a cause and fix for this?? I've never heard of it happening. Thanks.

Are the butterflies centered in their bores when the idle screw is backed out and on the secondaries? if not loosen the screws just a little and move the butterflies until you have contact all around the bore and make sure your not binding because the butterflies are too close or too far from each other, you need shaft end clearance up to the full closed position. Adding a heavy spring hides the problem. Make sure the secondaries are fully closed but not sticking in the bores.
