Exhaust

I have a 94 5.0. I was wondering if it is possible to cut the cats off the factory Y pipe and weld on two high flow cats? Can they heater tube run off of one cat or does it need to draw from both cats? Is there anyone that makes a dual in/ dual out 2 1/4" cat? The biggest cat I can find like that is 2".

Thanks in advance for any help

Search this forum. The amount of info is overwhelming. The most commonly mentioned/sought after/preferred, exhaust component is the Bassani Y-pipe which comes with an available high-flow cat. 3" IN and 3" OUT single exhaust which will perform better than duals. The "heater tube" is the air injection tube from the smog pump to the catalytic converter and the Bassani unit reuses it.

The two old converters can be replaced with one high flow converter which will make up for having only one, so it wouldn't really be necessary to use 2 high flow converters.
