Bed bolts and header ????'s

Last weekend i started takeing the bed of my 78 F-150. It was totally trashed so i just cut the bed bolts from the tops. The bed im going to put on it is on my 76 F-100, I know ill end up having to cut the bolts to get them off. So i was wondering if anybody knew where i could get some new bolts?
Also im wondering about headers for it. My mud truck has a 351m in it with some headers that run right into the cross member pretty poor design. Do doug Thorley headers fit our trucks good? I found a set for $75 and i was wondering about them. I found a front drive shaft for my truck finally but the guy wants $50 for it and its missing the u-joint caps and its been sitting in a bronco frame out in the weather for about 2 years, should i offer him less? Thanks James.

Well, the bed bolts are just hardened carriage bolts. A local bolt supplier such as Fastenal should have them.
Not sure on the headers or driveshaft. My Dynomax headers fit my 460 good, but it is a 2wd.

hedman makes a fender well exit header, they work real nice, and you can run your own exhaust for a little bit of nothing out the side. Also gets the heat away from everything. That does not sound bad for a driveshaft as long as it will work and is in really nice shape, slip yoke tight, I would always replace u-joints when replacing the driveshaft.

Well, As far as bed bolts go. I just go to the hardware and buy regular octagon headed grade 8 bolts. I've even used grade 2 zinc plated ones with good sucess. I myself like to be able to hold the nut from the bottom, while my wife runs the air wrench from up top. If your beds are like mine, the square whole is liable to be rounded out and a carriage bolt will just spin anyway. I dread sawzalling or grinding heads off of bed bolts.

I just use regular bolts, nuts, big flat washers & lock washers. I think I used 1/2" x 4 1/2" bolts. You could probably go with 9/16" if you like. I also like to put some anti seize on the bolts so they'll just zip right back out when you remove your bed. My rubber bed mat hides the bolt heads well. They don't stick up much anyway. The choice is yours.
