85 351w in 78f100: do I really need the "thermo" switches?

as the title says.I am installing a new wieand intake manifold on my 85 351w HO in my 78 f100. I want the cleanest look possible. which means the fewest vacuum lines possible. Do i really need all the vacuum lines that were stock for this motor? as I see it about the only vacuum line I need is for the dist advance.I don't have power brakes. how much does the stock vacuum stuff affect warm up on a cold engine? I would very much like to get rid of all the stock stuff if possible.

hi Cjben. One you may want, If your using the stock aircleaner housing. The valve in the aircleaner inlet. It opens a heat tube from above one exhaust manifold. Helps warm up. The vacuum/temperature switch is in the airclear housing.

We put a 85 351w H.O. into a 79 F100, used a weiand stealth intake and 600 holley with open air cleaner. We use a PCV from the passenger valve cover to the back of the carb, a vacuum line to the brake booster from the intake, and one from the carb to the distributor. We installed a self venting oil fill cap. I think all you need is the one from the carb to the distributor if you use a open air filter. Do the same as us for the PCV.

I have a weiand action plus intake and a holley 600 cfm carb on my 1979 F100. The only vacuum lines I have are vac advance on the distributor, Automatic transmission mudulator and PCV. thats it. Looks alot better than what all was on there before. And runs better too.
