1. Remove (2) 7mm from the cluster area which secure the main trim bezel.
2. Carefully pop the trim bezel off and undo all the harnesses at the rear. This honestly is the worst part of the install. Be sure to tilt the wheel all the way down, apply the ebrake, and shift into the lowest gear (ignition on only, car NOT running!)
3. Once that panel is out of your way, remove (2) 7mm that secure the radio and remove the radio. Feel free to completely unplug the radio to make room.
4. Route your harness from under the steering column area up to behind the radio area. All the slack on this harness will be run to the rear of the vehicle.
5. The 2 connectors both plug in to one another there is no wiring involved with the kit. Plug in the appropriate plugs, and then reinstall the radio remembering to plug in all harnesses and the antenna.
6. Now to start running the harness to the rear. Pop off the drivers door sill first, then the drivers kick panel. Also pop off the drivers rear door sill panel. You will also want to pull off the rubber seals on both sides of the b-pillar, and pop the panel out slightly to run the harness behind in.
7. Run your harness down the driver side of the vehicle towards the rear. There is plenty of slack you can leave a little play on the harness in the underdash area if you'd like.
8. Open the rear hatch and pop out the tray and cupholder from the drivers side rear. Both just pop out there are no screws.
9. Route your harness up through that area and out of the hole for the rear tray.
10. Plug the harness into the main module module and the MUX module if you have the rear DVD kit.
11. Place the antenna centerered on the rear of the roof. The main antenna part is magnetic, and the stalk? part of it you need to apply the supplied double sided tape. There is also a alcohol pad to clean the roof surface of any debris before installing. Positioning the antenna is much easier with the rear hatch CLOSED so you can stand on the bumper.
12. Next open the rear hatch and start to run the antenna lead down. Be careful not to kink the lead which is very easy to do. Pull the rubber seal off around the top of the hatch area, and file a small groove in the metal lip that the rubber seal pops over. This is to run the antenna lead without crushing it. I prefer to bring the antenna lead in dead center straight down. Just leave slack on the lead so it lays in the area between the rubber seal and the roof itself, rather than being tight.
13. Route the antenna down to the module and plug it in. Be careful when routing the antenna past the seat belt so it doesn't get caught up when using the seatbelt.
14. Tie up all the extra slack and mount the module inside the rear side panels. I prefer to just use a piece of velcro rather than those metal brackets they give you. Replace all your panels and give it a try. You MAY want to test it before replacing all your panels if you don't have much faith in your work

15. Turn on the radio and hit the SAT button. You will only get the Sirius preview channel at this point.
Troublshooting
If you don't get the preview channel right away, don't panic this is normal. It sometimes takes about 10-15 minutes for me to get the preview channel to come in. In this time you may get no antenna errors, service sat errors, and just random things. If the radio display shows 1 khz, that's a good sign. Try cycling the ignition off, then back on and see what happens. Try turning the radio itself off and on, and see what happens. Try hitting the SAT button and just leave it sit for a few minutes, it usually pops on eventually. Lastly try hitting the seek and other buttons, and it will come on eventually.
If you have the OEM indash nav unit (this is common on navigators, not 100% sure of this being offered on the expeditions), you may need to have the software programming upgraded before the sirius will work.
Finally call the local car audio shops in your area to see who deals with ford/visteon. Like the "Ford" remote starters in most cases the dealer themselves doesn't install these systems they call in a third party and jack the price. I believe we charge the dealer somewhere around 350 - 400 installed for these systems, including all parts and labor, so if you guys are getting quotes of 600 you can see what's happening..
Anybody in the NEPA area who isn't up to installing these themselves, I am available for installation at a very reasonable rate. Any problems or questions feel free to contact me,
Mike

So the Sirius add-on WILL work with the factory Visteon navigation unit? I called Visteon a few months ago and they said no.
I replied to this yesterday, but it seems someone deleted my post for some reason? Anyway if you push and hold the audio and menu buttons on your radio it will bring up a keypad. Type in 917 and hit enter. Find the radio display part number and post it back here. I will check to see if that radio is on the list for you. I've done a dozen or more navigators with the indash nav, but honestly can't remember doing an expedition with the factory nav. Even if it is compatible, you will need to get your radio and nav software updated.
"Just follow Installzdotcom's instructions and you will listening in no time. Be careful with the dash though. Thanks for the help!"
Glad to hear you had good success with the instructions. I was typing it up from memory so hopefully I didn't leave anything major out. As mentioned removing the dash trim piece is the worst part of the install.
