I have a water leak into truck cab. I notice a gap between windshield seal/moulding and cab (outside). I suspect this as the source. Anyone have the same problem? If so, how was it remedied.
My van leaks the same way, how do you replace the gasket on a windsheild? I can't actually see a hole, but water comes in at the top of the windsheild.
If we're talkin about a rubber mounted windshield, the cleanest way is to take the windshield out and put in a non-drying windshield sealant ( not urethane). The name eludes me but your local glass shop will know. Put around or just along the top of the rubber and reinstall the windshield. Have done this many times and it works well.
It's called tremco, your glass shop will no what you are talking about, as stated above by dixon18, you don't want to use urethane sealer, that is for frame set windshields with trim moldings, and from a glass installers point of view, don't use silicone, it will seal the leak, however, it will also attract dirt and mold, and will show in about a week, not to mention the extra hassle that is needed for clean up if you have to remove the window at a later date. Hope this helps. later
