So, here's the situation. I've a 1987 Bronco II 2.9l 4x4. It has recently begun ticking a bit in the engine area. I am at a loss of what it is...It's kind of a quiet tick, but unnerving all the same. Also, there used to be this cap type thing at the end of my crank shaft pulley which, by some strange happening, is no longer there. I'm wondering, is that a pertinent part, cos it's not on my f-150. And....any ideas about the ticking? It used to tick a bit when it was cold, but that wasn't constant. I've already checked the oil and stuff and it's all hunky dory fullness there....SO, Help me please....IF YOU CAN>>>>.
I think it's a clogged valve. I talked to a bunch of people about it, they all agree. I'm going to kerosene flush my engine again and do a full change of my filters and fluids. If that doesn't fix it, then...i just don't know. I think I'll sell it soon anyways...I want another full size Bronco. I miss them. The cap's not really an essential, i think it just fell off. I've been out fishing a lot recently and I go offroad to do it. Seems plausible. Ah well. I appreciate the help...we'll see how this thing goes... and hope that it's nothing mighty pricey...
I've heard that the fuel injectors get especially noisy when there is a bad ground. Can't remember the specifics, but give the wiring to the injectors and the PCM to ground and make sure all is good.
