straight axle conversion
Hey there. I got this Bll and i want to switch out the independent suspesion with a straight axle. It's an eddie bauer, 86, 2.9 engine, 5 speed trans. Mitsubishi, i think. What would be the most time efficient axle to use. Meaning, is there an axle i can swap right off of another vehicle? Would the coil seats work fine with my 4' lift coils? this would be my first axle conversion so please be somewhat detailed.

Fabritech solid axle conversion kit does a great job but is very expensive for $3000-$4000 they will give you the complete set up with a dana 44 built to your specs. But if you don't have that much in your piggy bank, it'll at least give you a good design to reference your own fabrications to. I am sorry I don't have an answer to your direct swap question however. Is it a daily driver?
