I want to know if i could replace the glass on the back of my bronco ii and modify it so the glass opens, cause it just makes things easier, or would it me easier to just replace the whole back of an 86' to a door that has the glass, i would appriciate the advice.
What year is it? Mine is an 86 and the rear glass opens seperate from the hatch. I didn't even know they made a non opening rear glass. And if that is the case I would just replace the entire rear hatch to one that has an opening glass. I frequent the local junk yards and have found them to be very useful. Good luck with it.
My 86 has the fixed glass and I looked at pulling the back hatch off a 85 so I could open the glas but I the door I found had to much damag and I'm on the road still (no shop). Fastest and easyest is to find one in a yard and just swap it out. I found one here in TX for $100.00 and in OR it was $45.00. All the mounts are the same and after pulling the inner door panel all that holds the lock itself is a simple spring clip. They are fiberglass not steel so check close for cracks.
I just bought a "parts Bronco II" for the motor, and I am trying to decide what to do with it. I may be interested in selling body parts off it, and it has the back door/window that you seek. I would be willing to sell it for $70 but I am on the OR/CA line near Yreka, CA, and the shipping could get nasty. Where are you? Jim
i just got in a wreck too, so i went to the junk yard for a new bumper, but unfortunately, no chrome bumpers cept the crunched ones, and the black bumpers i would have settled for had the bolts w/o the top nut on them, so they wouldnt come off, if you have a decent front bumper that has mabey 1 little dent in it, i would be intrested in that espically, but as for the glass/door, i found one at the junkyard, and it looks in good condition cept the glass is broken out, but i thank you for the offer, get back to me on the bumper though i would appriciate it much, and i would also want brush guard or mabey a tow package, just to add some other things i would like to get, thanks much
hazzard64,
Sorry, but I can't help you with a front bumper. The previous owner must have hit a deer with this Bronco. The body dents are slight, but the front bumper is not good.
Hazzard64,
My oversight - you asked on the other forum about the roof rack. I should have mentioned that I plan on keeping the rack and mirrors. Sorry. The tire cover is not for the stock tires. What size do you have? Think these are 225/75 R15.
Jim
(I know your question was on the other Bronco forum, but I can't find it, and it looks like we are not supposed to exchange off list email addresses.)
