I have an 88 B2 2wd auto tranny xlt and i am having a problem with my power locks. My unlock works but the lock doesn't. Can anyone tell me whats wrong? Thanks
I think your going to have to take the door panel off and test the circuits with a volt meter to determine were you lose power. I'm thinking its either a bad switch or accuator.
One simple thing you can try is to swap the lock & unlock relays with each other. On my 87 they are on the "driver side fender apron" Probably the same on yours
if the actuator is the problem, try partsexpress.com. they have a universal type that you can use with minimal fabrication. by the way, i priced the one from a ford dealer. it was $149.95 each. parts express price is around $10.00. good luck!
i have that same problem, and i find thatif you turn the key to accessory, and hit the lock button, you cn hear a click under the hood, i also think it is in the drivers side panel. and i would like to see that wiring diagram
I had the same problem with my 88.It was a broke wire in the rubber elbo where the wirers go into the door.APITA to fix .Check all the fuses and make sure that all the conections are clean. While your in the door clean the window motor contors and clean and grease the windows gears.
My locks were sticking really bad so I sprayed WD-40 on where the lock goes up and down and they work like new. Alot of the actuators are the same off different fords its just that they need the ends changed to fit yours.
