I need some help from those of you that have seen your share of '66 F-100s. I have mismatched mounts for the side mirrors on mine. One of them is what I believe is the reproduction sold by Dennis Carpenter and the other is what is shown in the image I've uploaded here. I want a second mount like that one (not the DC one). I had assumed that this one was stock given the paint/patina but when I search for what I believe is the correct part number (B6C-17727-A) all I see is more of the Dennis-Carpenter-style.
Am I searching for the right part number? Is what I'm trying to find a duplicate of an actual Ford part or is it something that a PO made?
What you have pictured should be easy enough to dupilcate with a piece of steel. Drill and tap some holes and you’re good to go, I made one just like it 40 years ago for a truck.
Both the Genuine Ford and reproduction ones have a raised section surrounding the center hole. The one in your photo appears flat, not having the raised section, leading me to believe it was fabricated. On second thought, perhaps not all those attaching mounts were chrome with the raised portion?
I have a pair of those mounts that are even that same color. They came off an original truck that was in the junk line at an old farm.
I would think That one is stock.
I'd buy one from @benbuilder and save the grinding disk, oxy-acetylene gases, drill bits, tap, time, energy and have something that should be 100% correct for bolt spacing and thread pitch. Could make one in a pinch for sure but why bother? If you didn't have a suitable piece of steel, you may be money ahead, too. Just my 2 cents.
And while it may not matter much the originals had a slight bend to the bracket. Recycling some older pictures below.
Yup, @benbuilder is taking care of me, @TA455HO . And thanks for the pics. I had those little round mirrors mounted to both sides and I never believed that they were correct for that mount. Now I know what kind of mirror those mounts were for - much appreciated!
Also thanks for confirming the bend in the mount is intentional. My truck has so many dents I couldn't tell whether that was as-designed or a PO just clipped a mirror at some point.
I appreciate the help, everyone.

I do believe that those mounts shown in Chad’s post are what were on my previous 59’ F250, that had telescoping style mirrors similar to those shown in his photos. So, 57-60 trucks may be an additional part source for them.
My 66 has aftermarket, direct-to-door mount, Jr. West Coast mirrors, apparently made by either Yankee, or Dietz, both of whom also manufactured for other private-brand retailers like Sears, Monkey Wards, etc.

Good thought. I can't recall the exact year and would have to research it some again, but Ford started with the thru door mirror brackets with two holes centered vertically on the bracket for the two bolts. Then sometime around last 50's early 60's - for sure by 1961 - they changed it to having the two holes offset vertically. That's why with the slight bend in the bracket they started drilling 4 holes total so they could be reversed from left to right doors and still have the bend angled toward the rear.
Carpenters mirror brackets for the 5" round chrome mirrors have 6 holes drilled and tapped in them. That way they work across the board with the 2 holes center vertically for the older trucks and the outer 4 for the newer trucks. Newer being a relative term in this case as they phased this thru door type out completely for 1967 trucks.
