Need Fuel Measurement Solution

I have an underbed tank in my 1966 F100 short bed.
I need a solution for getting accurate fuel level measurements. I have tried Tanks Unlimited's Metermatch with lousy results. Too difficult to set up and then it doesn't work anyway.
What are others doing to get accurate fuel readings in this config? I don't have a seperate hole in my tank for a sending unit, so my sending unit is integrated with the pickup tube.
I want to retain the OEM gauge.
thanks,
rex

Fill it twice a day and you’ll be good. Your dash gauge can just be ornamental.

If you're referring to a mustang tank, I've never gotten "accurate" readings from mine, that said , it's close enough....

Which tank tank are you using? What was it made for? Only a member with experience with your exact tank, and sending unit combo is going to have the experience your looking for....

I prefer the in-cab tank but to get what you have to work correctly with a stock gauge a few stars need to line up. The gauge system Ford used for decades is a King-Seeley system it works on a nominal 5 volts with all the senders and gauges calibrated at 10 ohms high reading and 73 ohms low reading. You will have to find a car tank with the same depth as the tank you have and make the gauge for it fit your tank.
Good Luck

My readings are OK when it's working, but it keeps failing and reading empty. Looking for a better system.

I Guess you could run a dedicated ground wire from the tank to the dash cluster... That should provide more reliable readings.. that assumes that the actual gauge and sender, isn't the failure point.
It's actually the fastest way to test the 'grounding problem' theory.

I have a boat that the gauge does not work on. I use a stick with 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full marked on it. When I want to know how much gas I have left I stick it in the tank. More accurate than any gauge.
